Courts

In Court-referred and ordered mediation cases the mediator is a neutral facilitator, not a judge. The mediator does not decide the case, make findings of fact, or provide legal advice. Authority to resolve the matter rests solely with the parties.

Team Levee provides court-referred mediation services pursuant to Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code, Chapter 154. Mediation is conducted in a neutral, confidential, and structured manner consistent with Texas law and applicable court orders.

Court-referred mediation provides parties an opportunity to engage in confidential, structured discussion outside the courtroom. While attendance may be required by court order, participation in any agreement is voluntary.

Mediation is intended to:

  • Clarify issues in dispute
  • Improve communication between parties
  • Explore settlement options
  • Reduce litigation expense and delay

Mediation sessions are conducted in a respectful and orderly manner. Each party is provided an opportunity to be heard. The mediator may meet privately with the parties as part of the process.

All communications during mediation are confidential to the extent provided by Texas law. The mediator reports only attendance and whether an agreement was reached, unless otherwise required by court order.

Court-referred mediation may include, but is not limited to:

  • Civil disputes
  • Workplace and employment matters
  • Business and commercial conflicts
  • Community, HOA, and property-related disputes

Family law matters are accepted only when appropriate and consistent with court orders and applicable law.
